Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilbhit ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. The Indian leader wished the crowd on the occasion of Navratri, Ugadi and Gudi Padwa.

Eight parliamentary constituencies in Uttar Pradesh will vote in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls on April 19. These are Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina (SC), Moradabad, Rampur and Pilibhit.

From slamming the Opposition to highlighting the BJP’s governance in the past 10 years, here are five key takeaways from PM Modi’s rally in Uttar Pradesh:

- Underscoring India’s success, PM Modi said, “Amid the various difficulties being faced by the world now, India is showing that there is nothing impossible for it to achieve.”

“No matter how difficult the goal is, if India is determined to achieve it, it will definitely achieve. Today, with this inspiration and energy, we are working towards the resolution of a developed India,” he added

- The Indian prime minister hailed India’s self-reliance by recalling the COVID pandemic. He said, “There were times when the Congress government used to ask for help from the world. But India sent medicines and vaccines to the rest of the world during the pandemic.”

“Wherever there was a crisis of war anywhere in the world, we brought back every single Indian safely,” he added

- Talking about the sugarcane farmers of UP, the Indian leader said, “The BJP government has worked with full force to reduce the problems of sugarcane farmers. Many sugar mills have been opened, many have been expanded and this work is being done continuously.”

- “Today, on the first day of Navratri, I am also reminding the country how the INDI alliance has vowed to destroy power. The power that is being worshipped in the country today has been insulted by the Congress,” Modi said

- Slamming the Opposition for politicizing the inauguration of Ram Mandir, Modi said, “Our Kalyan Singh ji dedicated his life to the Ram temple. Every family in the country contributed to its construction in their own capacity. But the leaders of the INDI alliance had hatred even before the construction of Ram temple and they have hatred even today.”
