Actor Adil Hussain known for her portrayal in films like Kabir Singh, English Vinglish, Lootera and others, is one of the actors, who never minces his words and gives his honest opinions. A few months back, he grabbed headlines after saying that he regretted doing Kabir Singh, which angered the filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

In one of the interviews, a few months back, when he was asked that regional movies like RRR featuring Jr NTR and Ram Charan taking the global stage as it won the Oscars for Best Song, he replied that he doesn’t consider SS Rajamouli’s directorial a great movie but term it as an entertaining film.

“Assamese cinema has already gone there. It doesn’t have to be RRR kind of film. I don’t consider RRR as a great film. It is an entertaining film. Film like RRR are very entertaining, extremely entertaining… that much I know… but it is not a great film. I would rather prefer a Village Rockstar than RRR,” said in the podcast of Guwahati Connections.

As soon as the clip went viral on Reddit, many users shared their thoughts and agreed to Hussain. “It’s fair to call it an entertaining film and not consider it as great film which I am sure lot of people would agree with,” an user wrote. “He’s expressing his opinion… not every film has to be a great film to be massively successful. Better films than RRR have received less attention at the Oscars. Better songs than Naatu Naatu have failed to get Western recognition,” said another user.

“Valid opinion. It’s okay for a movie to not be the GOAT and still be entertaining,” commented a user. “One of the big reasons why Rajamouli movies are so well received is because they are very well made and well rounded. His movies are less about groundbreaking stories itself and more about brilliant storytelling skills,” said another user.

“He makes sense…rrr only gained popularity because it showcased patriotism and portrayed similarity to lord Ram, otherwise the story and visuals were mediocre. And the song got Oscars award, not the movie itself,” another opined
