Popular Instagrammer and influencer Aanvi Kamdar died after falling into a gorge while making a video in Maharashtra’s Raigad district. The 27-year-old reel star, who was on a monsoon outing with seven friends, fell into the 300 feet deep gorge near the famous Kumbhe waterfall at Mangaon in adjoining Raigad district while making a video on Tuesday.
Kamdar was a bright lady as she was a chartered accountant by profession and was working with Deloitte. The bubbly and cheerful girl, who was known for making reels on travel and underrated places, made quality content and we cannot deny that these kind of influences boosts local tourism.
When she fell into the gorge, her friends alerted the rescue team and police and fire department came at the spot. Six rescue officials were sent down and it took them six hours to pull her out with the help of stretchers and ropes. She was responsive through the time she was taken to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.
According to the Mangaon police station official, Kamdar, a resident of Mumbai’s Mulund area, had come to the picturesque waterfall for an outing with her friends amid rains. While making a video of the scenic surroundings, she slipped and fell into the gorge, he said.
“As soon as we reached the spot, we realised that the girl has fallen nearly 300-350 feet. Even after reaching her, it was difficult to get her up, as she was injured and it was raining heavily. So we decided to get her out using a vertical pulley,” a rescuer told NDTV.
Well, looking at the scenario, it does come to our mind that if the authority had been well-equipped and would not have taken six hours, Aanvi would have been alive today.
