Akshay Kumar to have a cameo in Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor's 'Stree 2', source says 'His scene is...'

Agree or disagree but one of the biggest surprises of 2018 was Stree. It’s still the funniest and spookiest horror comedy in the genre that’s expanding but not for good. The town of Chanderi in that Amar Kaushik directorial brimmed with both fright and fragrance and became a central character to a story that still feels fresh.

Six years later, the gang has returned and so has the shenanigans. The madness has doubled and so has the fun, and so has the spook, and so has the silliness. And Tamannaah Bhatia makes a surprising and stunning cameo.

That’s not all, Hindustan Times reported even Akshay Kumar has a cameo in this horror-comedy. A source said, “es it’s true. Akshay has a cameo in the Rajkummar Rao- Shraddha Kapoor starrer. The makers felt his comedy timing is impeccable, and his presence even for a few minutes will elevate that particular sequence.”

The sequel should hopefully set the bar higher and also the box-office. Shraddha Kapoor’s dreadful gazes and Rajkummar Rao’s antics are retained and so is the scene stealing trio of Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee.

About the sequel

The announcement happened last year at Jio’s event and the release date that has been finalized is August 31, 2024, the same date when Stree released back in 2018.

After teasing the audience of the arrival of   Stree 2   in the mid credit scene of  Bhediya, there was news of Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee were all set to start to shoot for Stree 2 in March 2023. A source from the production house confirmed the actor along with the original cast of Stree would begin shooting in March with shooting set to take place in across 4 cities.
