The hype of Alien: Romulus has been unreal in the West and that’s why when I entered the cinema hall to watch this horror-thriller, the expectations were sky-high. And when I walked out, the thrilling experience satisfied me as a cinema lover.

Talking about the plot, the standalone film is set between Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986). Directed by Uruguayan genre specialist Fede Álvarez known for Evil Dead (2013) and Don’t Breathe (2016), the film narrates the story of a group of teenagers, who land on an abandoned ship to find cryostasis chambers, which can help them run away from their dying planet for their better tomorrow.

However, their mission wakes up the hibernated aliens. How will these teenagers complete their mission and battle it with these monstrous aliens? Well, for that you need to watch Alien: Romulus on the big screen.

Fede Álvarez masterfully crafts his narrative and makes sure to immerse you in a thrilling and monstrous world of aliens right from the first frame. Despite bringing his own touch and newness, Fede makes sure to keep the essence of previous Aliens films, thus giving them a thrilling tribute.

Talking about the performances, Cailee Spaeny steals the show as Rain. After Civil War, the actress once again shows acting mettle like a boss. Other members of the ensemble - David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu perfectly pack the punch with their acts.

The film also scores high on the technical aspects. While DoP Galo Olivares brilliantly captures the intense moments, Jake Roberts deserves brownie for his editing skills for making the movie crisp and sharp. Benjamin Wallfisch’s music elevates the momemnts thus enhancing the cinematic experience of Alien: Romulus.

On the whole, Alien: Romulus is a must watch for all horror-thriller lovers.
