Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas' 'Kalki 2898 AD' makers sue trade analysts for Rs 25 crore that alleged the collections of the film are fake

Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is slowly marching towards the Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide but few so-called trade analysts have claimed the collections being reported by the makers are fake and exaggerated. The makers have now sued these gentlemen for Rs 25 crore, as per a report by Bollywood Hungama.

“Both these individuals infamously known as samosa critics in the industry claimed on their social media accounts that the makers of Kalki 2898 AD are wilfully putting out fake figures. They have been tweeting about it on a regular basis. Their tweets were slanderous and amounted to calling the producers as cheaters,” a source cited by the entertainment portal claimed.

“The legal notice states that both Sumit Kadel and Rohit Jaiswal will now have to cite their source for the collections of Kalki 2898 AD, which they have given out and which they have claimed are the real earnings. That’s not all. They’ll also have to submit daily collections with a territorial breakup to back up their claim. If they fail to do so within a stipulated time frame, both will be liable to pay the producers a fine of Rs. 25 crores for publishing blatant lies and fake narratives, which have been their hallmark. No wonder they are known as samosa critics,” the source added.

Directed by Nag Ashwin,  Kalki 2898 AD is about Lord Vishnu. It’s a mix of mythology and sci-fi. It’s quite a starry movie with a line-up which includes Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Dulquer Salmaan. A kind of film which audiences will wait to watch in theatres for its brilliant international standard VFX. Set in dystopian world, undoubtedly, the film is a visual extravaganza.

Fans are awaiting the release of part two but a source told Bollywood Hungama why   Deepika may not feature in the same. “The sequel was planned anyhow, no matter what the fate of Kalki. Now that it has proven to be a money spinner beyond anything, the producers expected, the sequel is being expedited.”
