 Indian women’s compound team wins third consecutive gold medal

The unbeaten Indian compound women’s archery team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swami and Parneet Kaur completed a hat-trick of World Cup gold medals on Saturday. The top-seed Indian trio defeated Estonia’s Lisell Jaatma, Meeri-Marita Paas and Maris Tetsmann, 232-229 in a one-sided final in Turkey’s Antalya to win gold medal in Archery World Cup Stage 3.

Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swami and Parneet Kaur, who have been unbeaten this season, also won the gold medals at World Cup Stage 1 and Stage 2 in Shanghai and Yecheon in April and May respectively.

Indian male compound archer Priyansh will fight for a bronze later in the day.

In the recurve archery field, Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara are also in the fight for two medals after reaching their respective individual semifinals.
