Ajay Devgn and Tabu have come together for the nth time for Neeraj Pandey’s Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, a slow-burn that unfolds like a thriller under the garb of a timeless romance. It’s been reported Devgn was paid around Rs 25 crore for the film whereas Tabu around Rs 3 crore, however no confirmation has been made about the same.
And in an interview with We Are Yuvaa, Tabu opened up about this disparity and said, “Every media person will ask females about pay parity. They will say, ‘You know a man is paid more, you are paid less’. So why are you asking me? Why don’t you ask the person who is paying them more.”
The actress added, “Why don’t you ask the male actor why you are getting paid more? This might change the perspective, and the whole thing will change if there is an outside lens. Physicality is always in the context of the lens that is being carried.”
Auron Mein Kaha Dum Tha is a musical romantic drama spanning over 23 years, set between 2000 and 2023. The original soundtrack for the film has been composed by the Oscar-winning music director MM Kreem. The film also features a stellar ensemble cast including Jimmy Shergill, Saiee Manjrekar, and Shantanu Maheshwari.
This is the story about a man who has committed a crime and is sent behind bars. He refuses to step out in the world where he belonged again since he’s not ready to face the people. Everyone and everything has changed and the love of his life now belongs to someone else. Their relationship and reunion now are both awkward and nostalgic. And Devgn’s sharp quips come out only the way he can make them come out.
