The rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata has jolted the nation. Many actors and filmmakers of Bollywood raised their voice against the atrocity and now, several prominent Bengali actors have come to the streets to protest against the crime and demand justice. Bengali actresses like Mimi Chakraborty, Riddhi Sen have done the needful.

Mimi shared a video on Instagram and wrote- “Today my city of joy cried in its every corner as we failed as humans, every lane roared for Justice. And i would like to repeat my tweet again “Punishment should be such that next time even thinking of a henious crime like this gives you shiver down the spine…”

One of them said, “This won’t become another Sushant Singh Rajput.”

Riddhi Sen shared an Instagram story and wrote- ““Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.” Trina Saha also shared a video, and in the caption, she wrote, “We Demand Severe Punishment IMMEDIATELY.”

Actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay has also participated in the protest and the actor told The Telegraph, “I am here in solidarity with the women who have decided to take control of the night, and I think it’s a symbolic movement for everyone, not just women but for every single citizen of the world, not just the country, to proclaim, not reclaim, that it is irrespective of the time of day when it should be safe for any human being to be out on the streets, irrespective of whether the person is man, woman, transgender, or third gender.”
