Akshay Kumar & Kamal Haasan disappoint as 'Sarfira' & 'Hindustani 2' open at a meagre Rs 2.50 crore and Rs 1.70 crore

It was a dismal day at the box-office for both Akshay Kumar & Kamal Haasan as the initial reports suggest ‘Sarfira’ & ‘Hindustani 2’ opened at a meagre Rs 2.50 crore and Rs 1.70 crore.

The last two years have been tough for Kumar with one setback after another. His ‘ Sarfira ’ has not opened well either.

And this is what trade experts have to say about its commercial potential while interacting with Bollywood Hungama.

Taran Adarsh said, “The buzz is low and there’s not much hype about it. But I guess this is a word-of-mouth film. The original, Soorarai Pottru (2020), was a beautiful film and the National Award it got was a much deserved one. I am sure Sarfira will also be a faithful remake. The casting of Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal is an interesting one. They are coming together after a long time.”

Raj Bansal, the owner of Entertainment Paradise in Jaipur, stated, “The  content that is going against the film. It is due to the actor. Content kisko pata hai? The actor appears in five films a year. Public bore ho jaati hai.”

Shankar is an amazing filmmaker and his filmography is enough to prove that, however, Hindustani might turn out to be his weakest movie as the topic itself is very dated. With a runtime of 3 hours, there are several scenes which make you feel absurd. While the film is strong in all the technical aspects, it fails to create high points or elevations.
