'Was supposed to teach Salman Khan how to dance, ran away after four hours & cried because...'

Choreographer and director Farah Khan made her debut as a choreographer way back in the 90s and is known for many classic songs that continue to live on. But it has not been easy for her to make everyone dance. When she made an appearance on Shilpa Shetty’s show Super Dancer a few years back, she had some revelations to make.

Farah said, “Jackie Shroff was the toughest (for dancing). During my initial days when I was doing this movie, my career was going to end before it started because I got a song where I had to teach dance to Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor and Pooja Bhatt.” He would say, “Dekh Bhidu, ya toh mai lip-sync kar sakta hu ya toh steps, dono aek sath nahi hoga (Look, I can either lip-sync or do steps and can’t do both together).”

On Salman Khan

During one of the first screen test of Salman Khan, I was supposed to teach Salman to dance, I actually ran away after 4 hours and cried that nobody can teach you to dance, you don’t know at all. I was shocked when I came to know the makers had selected him in the movie Maine Pyaar Kiya and when I saw the movie I was even more shocked to see how good he was in it."

Shah Rukh Khan and choreographer-turned-director-actor Farah Khan are BFFs of Bollywood. While the off-screen camaraderie between the duo has been a treat for fans, in one of the old interviews, Farah spoke about his bond with the megastar.

Farah was pregnant with her triplets while shooting  Om Shanti Om, which marked the debut of Deepika Padukone. “Women can multitask, unlike men. We can do seven different things at the same time without complaining or making half the fuss that they make. We do it naturally and don’t make a fuss about it. When I was having triplets, I had to finish the last schedule of my film. I got on with it. Shah Rukh was really upset because we were shooting for Dard-e-Disco and every time he would remove his shirt, I would throw up,” said Farah.
