The blockbuster writer duo Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar popularly known as Salim-Javed delivered several iconic cinemas in their illustrious career. However, their children Salman Khan, the megastar and director Zoya Akhtar have yet to collaborate.

Zoya, who is known for directing films like Luck By Chance, Dil Dhadakne Do, Gully Boy & Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara recently hinted that such a collaboration would be ‘delicious,’ but they are finding that subject which will resonate with both.

“It would be amazing! He is a megastar who has got a crazy persona and a huge fanbase. I have to obviously find a subject that works for him, his fans, and me. The minute we find a subject, it would be delicious, it would be a lot of fun,” said Zoya while talking to Bollywood Hungama.

“It was fun, we were in his lawn and had some tea, all his nephews were around. It was a nice feeling to be back at Galaxy because we grew up there and played in that garden,” Zoya recalled visiting Salman Khan’s residence to discuss the web series Angry Young Men.

Angry Young Men is the story of Salim-Javed, the legendary screenwriting duo behind some of the biggest Bollywood blockbusters in 1970s like Sholay, Zanjeer, Deewaar, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Don and many more. Together, they created the archetype of the ‘Angry Young Man’— a brooding anti-hero who captured the imagination of an entire nation with his rage, defiance, and quest for social justice. Their parting of ways made headlines for many years, and Indian cinema never saw a cultural collaboration as powerful again. This docuseries is a personal and candid account of their lives, their writing, and their legacy, narrated by the duo themselves, with anecdotal gems from some of the most distinguished figures in Indian cinema.

Produced by Salman Khan Films, Excel Media & Entertainment and Tiger Baby, Angry Young Men is executive produced by Salma Khan, Salman Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, and marks the directorial debut of Namrata Rao.
