When Harry and Meghan made a trip to Nigeria in the month of May, they were given a VIP treatment. There were a lot of controversies around her trip too. Her inappropriate dressing to a visit in a Muslim school has also been criticised. Meghan Markle’s ‘rude’ interaction during royal tour of Nigeria has been branded as ‘phoney’.
Meghan Markle in the past has also been criticised for being an attention seeker. Publicity crazy sure she is. Duke and Duchess of Sussex were on a tour of the African nation after receiving an invitation. But Meghan Markle’s rude interaction with the people didn’t go down well. The invitation of Meghan and Harry came from the country’s Chief of Defence Staff. According to reports Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent trip to Nigeria has caused outrage within the British royal family, with Prince William and King Charles reportedly furious.
Royal expert Tom Quinn told The Mirror that the visit, which included traditional elements of a royal tour such as receptions, school visits, and meetings with wounded soldiers and the disabled, has left Prince William and King Charles “absolutely furious.”
Despite stepping back from royal duties in 2020, the couple’s actions during the trip had caused a lot of tension among senior royals, as it closely resembled an official royal tour.
Prince Harry and Meghan are both hated and loved by many. But many claim that Duchess of Sussex’s popularity is on the rise. The Mirror report also said that Meghan Markle is set to achieve phenomenal success with her lifestyle brand thanks to her “Princess Diana effect,” an expert has claimed.
Abesi Manyando, author and founder of the public relations and branding development firm Abesi PR said that Meghan’s popularity is on the rise since the time she visited Nigeria with Prince Harry in May. he believes Meghan is a “very relevant figure” in the media and that her popularity is “not limited to Britain.”
In the past too there was a lot of controversy around Harry’s memoir Spare. There were a lot of dark secrets about the royal family which were disclosed by him in the book. Prince Harry called the book Spare because he was the spare and his elder brother Prince William was the heir. The spare is often used for the youngest son and the elder one is called the heir. The eldest one who is the heir takes over the duties of the father when the father passes away and the spare is literally like a spare part. He is there to take over the responsibilities if anything happens to the heir.
And how can we ever forget Netflix’s Harry & Meghan and how Markle was the master mind behind both Spare and the controversial series. This made them probably one of the most popular couples in the world. This hugely popular melodrama series on Netflix was highly criticised for washing dirty linen in public.
