Directed by Nag Ashwin,   Kalki 2898 AD   is about Lord Vishnu. It’s a mix of mythology and sci-fi. It’s quite a starry movie with a line-up which includes Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Dulquer Salmaan. A kind of film which audiences will wait to watch in theatres for its brilliant international standard VFX. Set in dystopian world, undoubtedly, the film is a visual extravaganza.

Fans are awaiting the release of part two but a source told Bollywood Hungama why Deepika may not feature in the same. “The sequel was planned anyhow, no matter what the fate of Kalki. Now that it has proven to be a money spinner beyond anything, the producers expected, the sequel is being expedited.”

“But now with the clamour for the sequel growing with the mounting success of the first film, the producers may decide to replace Deepika in the sequel,” it added.

Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD is going strong at the box-office. Speaking to ETimes, the director revealed how Deepika Padukone’s actual baby was a part of the film too. “There were two days when her actual child also acted in the movie,” said Ashwin.

He smiled and said, ‘I know, dada.
