Another user wrote, “Arshad Warsi’s comment is understandable. He criticized the character Prabhas portrayed, which is fair. In #Kalki, Prabhas’s role did come across as awkward, with many cringeworthy scenes.”

In an interview with Samdish Bhatia, actor Arshad Warsi said he didn’t like the film. His words were rather explosive as he said, “Why? I want to see a Mad Max yaar, I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana diya yaar. Kyun karte hai aisa mujhe nahi samaj mein aata hai (What have you made it. Why do filmmakers do this, I will never understand). Prabhas, I am really sad but, why was he was like a joker?”

Talking about the review, Firstpost had given Kalki 2898 AD 3 stars and had written, “The best part of Kalki 2898 AD is the way the story is woven taking the best of mythology and science and making us think. The movie stresses on  Mahabharata’s core themes – dharma (righteousness) and karma (consequences of actions) – in the context of a future society with its complex moral landscape and the connection of universal concepts and societal structures.”
