The actress-director turned politician Kangana Ranaut, who is currently busy in the promotions of Emergency, called Bollywood a hopeless place and said it is jealous of talent.

“Only a people have a problem with me otherwise if you see me, I won an election and the kind of love that I receive from the industry, proves my point. So the problem is me or with them?” the actress said in the episode of The Bombay Journey with Mashable India.

When asked about her stance of boycotting Bollywood, Kangana replied, “Bollywood is, honestly I am saying, it is a very hopeless place. Kuch nahi hone wala inka. Ek toh talent se ye jalte hain. Jo bhi inko talented dikhta hain na uske piche pad ke ya toh usko khatam kar dete hain unka career barbaad kar dete hain unko boycott kar dete hain. Itna ganda PR kar kar ke unko badnaam karte hain (Nothing will happen with them. They are jealous of talent. If they see someone talented they go after them to destroy their career. Horrible PR is written on them and they are boycotted from the industry).”

Talking about , the movie is inspired by the infamous Indian Emergency and will see Kangana Ranaut essaying the role of the former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. In addition to this, Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry and Milind Soman have also been roped in for significant roles in the drama.

Bankrolled by Manikarnika Films and EaseMyTrip, the songs and background score of the film have been provided by G. V. Prakash Kumar. Along with leading the movie, Kangana Ranaut has also produced Emergency. It is set to hit the screens on 6th September.
