The first season of Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan began with a bang, The filmmaker says it was August 16, 2004, and the guests were Saif Ali Khan-Preity Zinta. It was Khan’s birthday and that was also the day when his former wife Amrita Singh threw him out of the house. This was revealed by Johar himself to Saif’s daughter Sara Ali Khan on Koffee With Karan itself.

“Saif is my lucky mascot. Because the first ever episode which I shot for ‘Koffee With Karan’ was with Saif. I clearly remember, it was on his birthday August 16, 2004. It was a day after your mom threw him out of the house I think,” revealed the filmmaker.

I have my son Ibrahim’s photograph in my wallet. Each time I look at it, I feel like crying. I miss my daughter Sarah all the time,” he said.
