Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon, who enjoyed a phenomenal 2024 with the success of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and Crew, was spotted celebrating her birthday in Greece along with rumoured boyfriend Kabir Bahia and sister Nupur Sanon.

However, an alleged clip of the actress smoking at the venue grabbed the headlines as she had said in an interview that she has always been a ’non-smoker'

However, fans on Reddit shared their thoughts and while some supported the actress, some questioned her hypocrisy. “As long as she doesn’t promote it. It’s whatever,” said a fan, while another wrote, “There’s something so distasteful about famous people being filmed on holiday without their consent.” A netizen commented, “I don’t see your point. People smoke so what? why is that an issue? She is on vacation, she can do anything she wants that is not illegal.”

Amid this, Kriti’s mom Geeta Sanon’s old tweet surfaced, which read, “She has always been anti-smoking and used to ask the people around her to leave smoking.”

During the promotion of her film Bareilly Ki Barfi, Kriti spoke about smoking for the movie and said, “I have always been anti-smoking. I never wanted to smoke. I did not like it even after doing it. But it was something that I had to do for the character. I didn’t want it to look fake, so I had to do it the right way. I could have opted just to do a mouth fag, but it wouldn’t have looked good on screen. When it comes to smokers, they can easily find out whether a person is actually smoking it or not. There are certain small nuances like how a person is holding a cigarette etc., that can also be spotted easily.”
