'You feel a deep sadness &..'

Kriti Sanon enjoyed a phenomenal 2024 with the success of Crew and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. However, last year, the actress delivered a box office debacle in the form of Adipurush, which featured Prabhas as Lord Rama and Kriti as Goddess Sita.

The film was criticised for its low-standard VFX and distasteful dialogues. Now, Kriti has finally opened up about the colossal failure of this epic mythological film.

“You feel a deep sadness and might even find yourself in tears, wondering what went wrong,” she said while talking to Filmfare.

Adipurush was also slammed for hurting the religious sentiments of the people. “The goal is never to hurt anyone’s feelings; the intention behind every project is always positive. However, we must face the reality that sometimes things just don’t click, and it’s crucial to learn from these experiences,” said the actress.

The Ganapath actress also said that there are many things which are not under her control. “As an actor, the best approach is to stay focused, put in the effort, and concentrate on the next project. There are many variables beyond my control, but I strive to ensure that I fulfil my role to the best of my ability,” asserted Sanon.

“At home, after watching my films together, we have a chai session the next morning where my family gives me honest feedback on what they liked and didn’t like. I believe constructive criticism is beneficial. But it’s important not to let all types of criticism get to you too deeply,” she said.

On the professional front, Kriti Sanon will be next seen in Do Patti, which marks her debut as a producer. Talking about the movie, she earlier said, " I think the one that is still not out which is Do Patti. It’s hard for me to tell you why because only the teaser has been dropped. But I can say that in the film, I have done something for the first time that I did not play in any of my films earlier. It was really challenging not just physically and in body language but also emotionally a lot. It has got a lot of graphs, emotions, drama and a lot of layers. It is a character with a lot of layers so Do Patti has been one of my most challenging so far"
