Manu Bhaker has rubbished the rumours of her possible marriage with former Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra. The rumours of marriage between Manu Bhaker and Neeraj Chopra started to do the rounds of social media after the shooter and her mother were seen speaking to Neeraj in separate videos after the end of the Paris Olympics 2024.
Manu Bhaker has now quashed the rumours, saying that there is no truth to the story.
“I don’t know much about it. I was not there when this happened. But since 2018 we have been meeting on the sidelines of events. We don’t have that much interaction otherwise. During events, we talk a little. But there is no truth to the rumours that are going around," Manu Bhaker told News18 in an interview.
Earlier, Manu’s father Ram Kishan Bhaker had also shut down the rumours, saying that his daughter was “still very young” and they are “not even thinking about” her marriage.
“Manu is still very young. She is not even of marriageable age. Not even thinking about it right now," Ram Kishan was quoted as saying by Dainik Bhasker.
Manu Bhaker won two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics to become the first athlete in independent India to win multiple medals in a single edition of the Summer Games. Neeraj, who won gold in the javelin throw in the Tokyo Olympics, won silver at Paris 2024.
