Netflix Emily in Paris-S4 Part 1 Review: Imperfectly beautiful, Lily Collins starrer is back with a bang

Creator: Darren Star
Cast: Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Camille Razat, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Lucien Laviscount

For a show to be engaging, it doesn’t need to be perfect. But the way Netflix Emily in Paris has moved from one season to another is commendable. And along with Emily (Lily Collins) we get to tour Paris, in the most glamorous possible way. Netflix’s Emily in Paris for me falls under the feel good, look good show which fits well under the category of travel, food and fashion series. It’s packed with sass and style.

Not all is perfect, but that is the magic of Emily.  Sometimes it is important to watch fluff too. And it is good to see the not so perfect life of Emily, including her boyfriend, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), the gorgeous Chef who is most often confused between his ex, Camille (Camille Émilie Razat) and Emily. Netflix’s Emily in Paris Season 4  promises glitz, glam, and oh là là moments bound to make you want to indulge in the Parisian adventure. Emily in Paris Season 4 will be split into two 5-episode parts, with Part 1 premiering on Netflix on August 15, 2024, followed by Part 2 on September 12, 2024.

As we all know Emily’s life is full of ups and downs, but she always comes out strong. Starting from coming to Paris and then being ditched by her boyfriend in Chicago to being accepted by her boss and co-workers in Paris, it’s never been an easy ride for her. But this time too she comes out as a winner with a smile on her face as always. That’s what makes Emily special.

A still from Netflix’s Emily in Paris

Emily Cooper and Gabriel’s slow burn romance has a magic which is difficult to forget. And good to see Emily who has adapted herself to French life and has got sophisticated with her dressing and the way she conducts herself. Emily’s boss Sylvie too has developed a liking for her and trusts her with major marketing projects because she knows that Emily is a go-getter. That is the quality of Emily that even her boss has started liking. Even in the thickest of problems, Emily has a solution.

Netflix Emily in Paris-S4 Part 1 touches upon the Me Too movement too. Ever since Emily in Paris started streaming in 2020, the people across the globe have shown their love because the show is definitely aspirational and that’s exactly what the viewers love about Emily and her high life in Paris. Paris is definitely a fashion and art lover’s paradise. You are encouraged to don your best berets and join in celebrating Emily’s whimsical journey. The best thing about Emily is even when she double timing, she is harmless and she doesn’t want to hurt anybody.

The best thing about Netflix’s Emily in Paris is that it’s not preachy. But, yes it does have a specific audience who love the show and there is a group of pseudo intellectual audience who hates it for its fluffy content. Well this group too watches it and gives their expert comments and that’s what makes Emily in Paris so popular. You love it or you hate it, but you definitely can’t ignore it!

Rating: 3 and half out of 5
