Vikrant Massey, Taapsee Pannu & Sunny Kaushal starrer is a sharp, engaging & twisted love triangle

Netflix’s Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is a twisted love triangle which even gets better this time with actor Sunny Kaushal. Sharp writing and engaging content is what Netflix is known for. And this time too they have lived up to the expectations of the audience with the right twists and turns in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. In fact, they have come back stronger, sharper and naughtier.

The film is so engaging that there isn’t a single moment where you will feel like blinking your eyes. Netflix’s Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba starts where the first part ended. Rani (Taapsee Pannu) and Rishu (Vikrant Massey) are back, and their tumultuous journey continues in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba.

Though the first half an hour of Netflix’s Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is a little slow, the way it picks up after that you will feel that the film has got even better with its prequel. Directed by the visionary Jayprad Desai, and written and co-produced by Kanika Dhillon, the film goes deeper into the lives of the star-crossed lovers, played by Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey. Produced by Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series Films, this sequel to Netflix’s hit romance pulpy thriller Haseen Dillruba is sure to have the audience on the edge of their seats.

We all know that it isn’t a pulpy small-town crime, rather a complex one. And with Sunny Kaushal coming in as the new lover of Rani (Taapsee Pannu) it gets all the more complex and engaging. We realise that understanding the psyche of the people is not as simple as it looks. And how can we forget to mention Montu mama played by Jimmy Shergill, the dashing police officer in Agra who knows it all. Montu (Jimmy Shergill) knows that Rishu (Vikrant Massey) is alive and the both Rani and Rishu are together in Agra for a reason. He calls himself kadhphodwa (woodpecker). He will keep pecking and try making Rishu and Rani’s a living hell. But as we all know the couple, if you try being smart with the couple, they can be smarter.

It’s truly a wild ride into the minds of each of the characters. The role of Abhimanyu played by Sunny Kaushal, the simple man who is head over heels in love with Rani (Taapsee Pannu) is not as simple as it looks. In fact, it is one of the most complex and meaty characters in the entire film. His craft is flawless and his change of expression will give you a chill down your spine. A compounder by profession, he truly knows how to be patient and most importantly knows how to kill in the most ruthless possible way.

But the question still remains to what extent will you go for love? The sequel delves deeper into the psyche of each of the characters trying to understand their emotions and most importantly their vulnerabilities. But what is totally out of control is Rani’s high libido which is difficult for her to tame. And why would she, because that is the beginning of all the twists and turns.

Netflix’s Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba ends with a bang. There are certain things which are unrealistic. But let us for once make peace with finding flaws in films. Till then enjoy the movie and keep waiting for part three.
