India first participated in the Olympics in 1900 in Paris and since then there have been only three athletes who have won multiple medals at the Summer Games. One of them was Norman Pritchard who won two medals at the 1900 Games in athletics, both silver, and the other two are – Sushil Kumar (wrestling) and PV Sindhu (badminton).

Sushil first won bronze at the Beijing 2008 games and made history by winning silver at London 2012 as he became the first-ever individual athlete from India to win multiple Olympic medals post-independence.
