India’s lone medallist at Paris Olympics 2024, Manu Bhaker, has been honoured with a special badge on X by the social media platform. An Eiffel Tower badge has been added to Manu Bhaker’s handle besides the blue tick of verification.
The Eiffel Tower badge has only been added to the handle of athletes who have won a medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics which is being held in Paris.

It has to be noted that the Eiffel Tower badge has only been offered to athletes who already had a verificed account on X including Remco Evenepoel of Belgium who won the gold in the men’s cycling individual time trials and women’s cross-country gold medallist Pauline Ferrand-Prevot of France.
It is pretty self-explanatory why X decided to add an Eiffel Tower badge next to the handle of Paris Olympics medal winners as the monument is one of the most recognised symbols of France in the world.
Bhaker creates history
The 22-year-old shooter from India became the first Indian female athlete to win a shooting medal on Sunday when she clinched the bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event with a score of 221.7. She also ended a 12-year drought of Olympic medals for India.

The ace Indian shooter missed out on a silver by a 0.1 score.
She also reached the air rifle mixed team event bronze medal match on Monday, pairing up with Sarabjot Singh.
