Swapnil Kusale of India qualified for the final of the 50m Rifle 3 Position Men’s event on Wednesday by finishing seventh in the qualification round at Paris Olympics 2024 with a total score of 590, while Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar finished 11th and missed out on a berth in the final.

The finals are scheduled for 1st August at 13:00 IST.

Kusale accumulated aggregate scores of 198 (99, 99) in the kneeling position, 197 (98, 99) in the prone position and 195 (98, 97) in the standing position as the top eight shooters from 44 in the qualification round progressed to the final.

China’s Liu Yukun finished at the top with a total of 594 points followed by Norway’s Jon-Hermann Hegg at second (593).

Ukraine’s Serhiy Kulish came third with 592 points.

France’s Lucas Kryzs (592-35x) was fourth, Serbia’s Lazar Kovacevic (592-33x) was fifth and Tomasz Bartnik (590-40x) from Poland was sixth.

Jiri Privratsky from the Czech Republic was tied on 590 points with Kusale but the Indian took the seventh spot after hitting 38 inner 10s as compared to Jiri who shot 35 and finished eighth.

Aishwary accumulated aggregate scores of 197 (98, 99) in the kneeling position, 199 (100, 99) in the prone position, and 193 (95, 98) in the standing position.
