Paris Paralympics 2024: Complete list of 84 Indian athletes who will take part in event

India will send a total of 84 athletes to the 2024 Paris Paralympics that gets underway on 28 August, and goes on till 8 September. This will be the largest-ever Indian contingent competing at the Paralympics. India had sent 54 athletes to the Tokyo Paralympics three years ago that included 14 women and 40 men.

This time, among the 84 Indian athletes for the Paris Paralympics, 32 of them are women whereas 52 of the rest are men. The Tokyo Games also witnessed India’s best-ever performance at the Paralympics, with the country winning 19 medals (Five gold, eight silver and six bronze).

The 84 athletes will compete across 12 sporting events. There are 22 events in total at the Paris Paralympics. Shooter Avani Lekhara and javelin thrower Sumit Antil, both of whom won gold in Tokyo, will return for the Games in the French capital. Sumit has been named India’s flagbearer for the opening ceremony along with Bhagyashree Jadhav.
