Qatar’s Doha is likely to outbid India and win hosting rights for the 2036 Olympic Games, Spanish media outlet Relevo has reported. In April, International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach had said that India were among the “double digit” countries who were interested in hosting the 2036 Olympics. In October last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had confirmed India’s bid to host the Olympics in 2036 ahead of the 141st IOC Annual Session in Mumbai.

Much recently, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur had also expressed confidence , saying that India could “very easily” host the Olympics in 12 years time.
