Actress Rakul Preet Singh’s brother Aman was arrested by Hyderabad police after a joint operation by the Narcotics Bureau and Rajendra Nagar SOT Police under Cyberabad Police’s jurisdiction.
The Hyderabad police conducted a press conference in which it was revealed five people were arrested in the case of drug paddling. It was also revealed that the actress’ brother was one of the 13 people who consumed drugs and tested positive.
I will only comment on whom Aman is connected to once we investigate the case more. We need to check when his association began with the accused, who consist of some Indians and Nigerians. Some of them are repeat offenders. But we believe it might be for a year and a half. Aman tested positive for using cocaine in the urine test. It is confirmed that he’s an actor, he did not say if it’s on Tollywood or elsewhere," said the police at the press meet.
Back in 2022, the Thank God actress was also summoned in connection with a four-year-old (2020) drug trafficking and consumption case.
Her statement was recorded by the ED in this connection last year too.
“ The actress has been asked to appear before the investigating agency on December 19. Rakul Preet was questioned by the ED on September 2, 2021. Several Telugu actors were also questioned in the matter,” a source said.
The anti-money-laundering agency had been probing this drug trafficking and consumption case for the past four years after a high-end drugs cartel until 2022, supplying LSD and MDMA and other narcotics, was busted in 2017 by Telangana’s Prohibition and Excise department.
The case was lodged by the ED on the basis of that matter after it found that money of that drug cartel was laundered via various channels.
