Ranbir Kapoor trolled for saying 'Alia Bhatt was 9 and I was 20 when we first met, she changed her loud tone post marriage'

Ranbir Kapoor’s latest podcast with Nikhil Kamath has divided social media users for his statements and revelations and confessions. One of them being about his wife Alia Bhatt, their maiden encounter, and how she changed post marriage.

Kapoor said they met each other for the first time when he 20 and she was 9. And when asked about how things have changed post their marriage, the actor revealed, “She used to speak in a very loud tone. I think my father’s tone, growing up, always rattled me. So she really made efforts to change that. And that’s not easy when you’ve lived 30 years of your life speaking in a certain way. She’s someone who instinctively reacts to say, if Raha falls down. There’s a reaction that throws me off.”

Kapoor added, “She makes certain things to put me at ease. I hope I could say there’s something I did to put her at ease, but I don’t think I’ve done it yet. Alia was somebody I met over the years, and I knew this person was special. I have immense respect for her as an actor, as an artist, as a person, as a daughter, as a sister. She really makes me smile. I love going home to her. I love going on a holiday with her, but I love coming home with her also.”

This statement didn’t go down with netizens who called Ranbir out for his toxic nature.

The ‘distant’ relationship between Ranbir Kapoor and his late father Rishi Kapoor has always garnered headlines among the audience. In a recent interaction, the Brahmastra spoke about his bond with him and Rishi’s final days.

“I stopped crying very early on. I didn’t even cry when my father passed away. When I was spending the night at the hospital, the doctor told me, ‘This is his last night, he is going to go anytime soon,’ I remember going up to the room and had a panic attack. I didn’t know how to express myself, there was too much happening that was to take. But I don’t think I have grieved, understood the loss,” said RK while talking to Nikhil Kamath.
