Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2, which released yesterday during Independence Day has finally ended the dull phase of Bollywood by garnering humongous footfalls in the cinema halls. While it opened to tremendous response in its paid previews and raked in Rs 9.40 crore, the horror-comedy turned out to be a record-breaker on its first day at the box office.
Biggest opener of 2024
The film raked in 55.40 crore on its first day (excluding Rs 8.35 crore in paid previews) and turned out to be the biggest Bollywood opener of the year beating Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter (Rs 24.60 crore) by a huge margin.
Biggest opener of Shraddha Kapoor
It turned out to be Shraddha’s biggest opener of all time beating Saaho - Hindi version (Rs 24.40 crore).
Rajkummar Rao’s biggest opener
Apart from Shraddha, Stree 2 also turned out to be Rajkummar Rao’s highest first-day grosser surpassing Mr and Mrs Mahi (Rs 6.85 crore) and Srikanth (Rs 6.82 crore).

With its goodwill & franchise value, Stree 2 has turned out to be the biggest opener in the Supernatural Universe beating the collections of its prequel, Bhediya (Rs 7.48 crore) and Munjya (Rs 4.21 crore) by a very huge margin.
