 'Why is this guy...'

Taapsee Pannu recently tied the knot with the love of his life Mathias Boe in March 2024 after dating for a long time. However, when the actress met the badminton player for the first time her friends were concerned and careful.

While Mathias was in Denmark and Taapsee was in India, the duo met for the first in Dubai and the actress’ friends were worried and warned her to be careful and said that he might sell her to some Sheikh.

“We met around like, say, 10-11 years back and then he proposed to me a year after we met. That was very quick. Yeah, nine years of engagement, none of us changed our minds and we still believe that we can stay together for most of our lives, yeah,” the Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba actress told Raunaq Rajani on his show Relationshit Advice.

Talking about the craziest thing she did for love, Pannu said, “That has been… For the first date, cross-continent or rather cross-country, first date when you don’t know the other person at all, that has been the craziest thing I’ve ever done for anybody. He proposed to me saying that I would like to take you on a date either in Denmark or Dubai. Because these are the two places I know very well. So, I said, who will go to Denmark? Schengen visa, oh my God.”

She added, “I was like, why is this guy interested in me? First of all, our confidence, being from this part of the world, we always feel like, you’re a white person, why would he be interested in us? That tiny bit of inferiority complex is there at all times anyway.”

“So, I went there and then my friends were like, “You take care of yourself.” Don’t let him sell you. I’m not kidding. My friends actually gave me… My best friend’s sister stays in Dubai. So, she gave me her number and I don’t know, if he’s selling me to a Sheikh, she won’t be able to stop the deal, right? He turned out to be a good guy. That’s why 10-11 years passed. I’m sure I would still want to stay with him,” the actress said.
