Union Budget 2024 is expected to be presented on July 22, government sources told News18.
It will be the first full budget of Modi 3.0 government.
Government sources further told News18 that the Monsoon Session of the parliament will be from July 22 to August 9.
The Economic Survey will be presented by the government on July 3, which is the last day of special session of the parliament.
The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha is slated to begin on June 24 and continue till July 3.
During the special session, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha will be elected, and new Members of Parliament (MP) will take their oaths. Rajya Sabha’s 264th session will be held from June 27 to July 3.
Who will present the Union Budget 2024?
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be presenting the Union Budget 2024 under the Modi 3.0 Cabinet.
Sitharaman had also presented the interim Budget on February 1, 2024.
Why two Union budgets this year?
On February 1, the finance minister had presented an interim budget, which is a temporary budget until the new government assumes office. It usually avoids major policy announcements or changes.
Now, the newly elected government has taken up the charge and it will present a full budget for the financial year, detailing the new government’s economic policies, expenditures, and revenue plans for the entire fiscal year.
