Former Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat celebrated Rakshabandhan with her brother in their village Balali on Monday. In a video that has gone viral on social media, Vinesh can be seen talking after receiving money as a gift from her brother.

“This money… I am almost 30 years of age. Last year also he had given me 500 rupees and now this (shows a thick wad of banknotes). The amount that is in my hands is what he has earned in his entire life. Thank you brothers and sisters,” Vinesh said in the video.

Vinesh was recently in the news after she was disqualified from the Paris Olympics for being overweight by 100 grams on the  day of the women’s 50 kg final, where she was due to face USA’s Sarah Hildebrandt.

She then filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for a joint-silver medal on 7 August, but on 14 August, her appeal was dismissed by the CAS. On 8 August, a day after her disqualification, Vinesh announced her retirement from wrestling. On 17 August, Phogat made an emotional return to India from Paris following her Olympics heartbreak.

Raksha Bandhan wishes to my bhaiya Ajay!
Growing up, I was his mini-me, following him everywhere & copying everything he did (even dragging myself to school!).

And our crazy fights were the best! Waiting to get back and create more fun memories 🧿 pic.twitter.com/8gQHRxkLsa
