Sridevi had a deep bond with her daughters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. But during the promotions of her 2017 film Mom, she spoke about the actress who played her on screen daughter Sajal Ali. She said, “Sajal is like my third child. Now, I feel I have one more daughter.”

Ali spoke to Hindustan Times after the legendary actress passed away and said, “I am in a state of shock right now. It feels like losing my mother again.

Sajal further shared that after she couldn’t attend the Masala! Awards in Dubai, Sridevi texted her, saying, ‘I missed you, beta’

She further added, “That’s the last message I have from her. After that, we spoke quite a few times in the last two months. But sadly, when she called me a few days back, I missed her call because I was shooting and I was thinking of calling her back, but I guess I took too much time to do that.”

In the eighth season of Koffee With Karan, Khushi Kapoor spoke about her mom’s demise and said, “I think it took me a while when it happened to kind of accept it. I think it did suddenly hit me after a while. But I was a bit confused, I don’t know. But I had Jahnvi and I had dad. So, they were just kind of there to help.” She said that it took her some time to properly process her mom’s death. Khushi added that she felt that she needed to be “strong” for the family. “I think I felt that I had to hold it together for everyone because I feel I’ve always been the strong one,” said Khushi Kapoor.

Born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan in 1963, Sridevi featured in memorable films like ‘Chandni’, ‘Lamhe’, ‘Mr India’, ‘Chaalbaaz’, ‘Nagina’, ‘Sadma’, and ‘ English Vinglish ’.

Apart from Hindi, she also starred in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada films. She shared screen space with Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Sunny Deol, Anil Kapoor, Thalapathy Vijay and others.
