Out of the 117 Indian athletes at the Paris Olympics 2024, only two will be taking part in multiple individual events - Parul Chaudhary and Manu Bhaker. Both female athletes are seen as medal contenders going into the Paris Games 2024.

Manu Bhaker, 22, will be competing in her second Olympics after a poor Tokyo 2020 campaign where she failed to reach the final of all her three events - women’s 10m air pistol, women’s 25m pistol, and mixed 10m air pistol. However, she has bounced back impressively by emerging as the most successful shooter in the Olympic Selection Trials.

At Paris 2024, she will be competing at three events once again - women’s 10m air pistol, 10m air pistol mixed team, and 25m pistol shooting competitions.

Parul Chaudhary is set for the Olympics debut in Paris after qualifying for the women’s 5000m run and 3000m steeplechase. She missed out on the Tokyo Olympics due to her poor ranking but qualified for the 2024 Paris Games in the 3000m steeplechase by clocking 9:15.31, a national record, at the World Athletics Championships held in Budapest last year.

In the women’s 5000m event, she qualified with a ranking of 34, while the cutoff was 42.

Parul won 5000m gold at the 2023 Asian Games and silver in the 3000m steeplechase.
