At the 47th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani introduced a groundbreaking feature for Jio users — Jio Phonecall AI. This innovative service allows users to record, transcribe, and translate phone conversations, making AI a seamless part of everyday communication.

The announcement was made on August 29 with Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) Chairman Akash Ambani detailing the new feature’s capabilities and potential impact.

“Jio Phonecall AI can record and store any call in Jio Cloud and automatically transcribe it, which means automatically convert it from voice to text,” Akash Ambai said.

Jio Phonecall AI is designed to enhance communication, accessibility, and collaboration for Jio users. The feature enables users to record phone calls and store them securely in the Jio Cloud.

It also provides automatic transcription, converting spoken words into text for easy review of key points. Additionally, the AI-powered service can translate calls across different languages, breaking down language barriers and facilitating smoother interactions.

The service is simple to use, functioning like a conference call.

Users can dial a dedicated Jio Phonecall AI number to start recording.

After a welcome message, pressing 1 initiates the recording, and the AI takes care of transcribing and translating in the background.

The service ensures transparency by reminding all participants that the call is being recorded.

Users can also pause the transcription by pressing 2 or finish the session by pressing 3. This functionality is available for one-on-one calls, group conferences, and even personal notes.

Accessibility and Inclusivity
Jio Phonecall AI is particularly beneficial for users with hearing impairments, offering an inclusive communication experience. The AI ensures that all calls and transcriptions are securely stored in the Jio Cloud, allowing users to access their conversations at any time. In conjunction with the Jio Phonecall AI, Reliance Jio announced an integration with Jio Cloud, where users can store their phone call recordings, real-time transcriptions, and translations. Jio Cloud provides a secure storage solution, ensuring that all data, including call recordings, transcripts, summaries, and translations, are safely stored.

As part of Jio’s Welcome Offer, users will receive 100 GB of free cloud storage, which can also be used to store photos, videos, and documents. This offer underscores Reliance Jio’s commitment to providing value-added services that enhance the digital experience for its users while prioritizing privacy and security.
