IndiaAI Mission: India to host Global India AI Summit 2024 in New Delhi

India is gearing up to host the ‘Global IndiaAI Summit 2024’ in New Delhi on July 3-4, organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. This summit is set to bring together international AI experts to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange, highlighting India’s commitment to ethical and inclusive AI development.

The Ministry of Electronics and IT announced that the summit will be a significant gathering for stakeholders from various sectors, including science, industry, civil society, governments, international organizations, and academia. The IndiaAI Mission aims to democratize access to computing resources, improve data quality, develop indigenous AI capabilities, attract top talent, promote industry collaboration, provide funding for startups, ensure the societal impact of AI projects, and advocate for ethical AI practices. The mission is structured around seven key pillars, each focusing on a critical aspect of AI development and deployment.

IndiaAI Compute Capacity aims to create a scalable AI computing ecosystem with over 10,000 GPUs through public-private partnerships, including an AI marketplace offering AI as a service and pre-trained models to support AI innovators and researchers.

IndiaAI Innovation Centre focuses on developing and deploying large multimodal models (LMMs) and domain-specific foundational models tailored to the needs of India’s diverse industries and sectors.

IndiaAI Datasets Platform plans to streamline access to high-quality non-personal datasets through a unified platform, supporting startups and researchers by providing seamless data access for robust AI model development.

IndiaAI Application Development Initiative seeks to promote AI applications across critical sectors by addressing problem statements from various government bodies and institutions, aiming to create impactful AI solutions for large-scale socio-economic transformation.

IndiaAI FutureSkills is committed to making AI education more accessible by increasing the availability of AI courses at different academic levels and establishing Data and AI Labs in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, ensuring a steady pipeline of skilled professionals to keep pace with technological advancements.

IndiaAI Startup Financing aims to support deep-tech AI startups by providing streamlined access to funding and risk capital, fostering a vibrant ecosystem of AI startups driving technological advancements and economic growth.

Safe & Trusted AI emphasizes responsible AI development through projects focused on ethical practices, including the development of indigenous tools and frameworks and guidelines for the transparency and trustworthiness of AI technologies.
