A number of social media platforms as well as Airtel’s telecommunication services experienced outages for several users on Monday.

The social media platforms that were reported down included X (formerly Twitter), Snapchat, and Telegram, among others.

The outages were not affecting all users as many people were able to access these platforms when others were reporting outages. Moreover, the outages appeared to be related to India as users in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, or Pakistan did not report such issues, according to ABP News.

The Meta-owned platforms Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp did not appear to face outages.

As the outages were spread across various platforms and services, it appeared to be a widespread systematic issue instead of a problem related to a particular website or platform.

What do we know of outages?

The outages began to be reported across all the affected platforms and services around 1-2 pm today, according to Down Detector.

The Down Detector is a website that tracks outages of websites, app, and telecommunication services.

While Snapchat and X were back to normal within a couple of hours, severe outages continued to be reported on Down Detector for Airtel, Telegram, and Freefire.
